Hardwood Cupping from a Water Loss in Boonton

When clean water from the kitchen is left running for a number of hours, upon returning home, the Boonton homeowner was shocked. The volume of water had seeped into the joints of the hardwood flooring, and already cupping was occurring. Uneven water absorption into the porous material has this effect. Luckily, our SERVPRO technicians removed the water and used drying mats to draw out the residual moisture from the tongue and groove joints. After several days of slow drying to prevent splintering, a light sanding and a refinish made the floor sparkle, better than brand new looking.
